FORNEY + architecture, LLC was originally Jane Ann Forney Architecture and was founded in 1991. Jane Ann and Rob Forney operated part time as separate entities in the St. Louis area.
FORNEY + architecture, LLC was founded in 2012 to combine the high-end residential, multi-family, and light commercial experience of Jane Ann Forney, AIA, with the management skills and large-scale project capabilities of Rob Forney, AIA.
F + A is an architecture firm dedicated to serving our global community by providing quality architecture at a competitive price while conserving our world’s resources through conscientious use of materials, methods, and design. Owned and managed by registered architects, F + A maintains an architectural Certificate of Authority, professional liability insurance, and a local business license.

Educated at the University of Notre Dame and the University of Kansas, Jane Ann and Rob have a combined experience of over 60 years, with projects in Missouri, Illinois, California, Colorado, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, Japan, and China. Their extensive international travel and projects augment their abilities. Rob is currently serving on the Kirkwood Architectural Review Board and has previously served as the chairman of Kirkwood Landmarks Commission, on the board of directors at Mid-East Area Agency on Aging, and on the St. Louis Planning & Zoning Commission.
F + A principals are well-versed in universal design concepts and aging-in-place design. Having lived near Chicago, Dallas, St. Louis, Washington, D.C., Wilmington, North Carolina, and Beijing, China, they understand diverse market requirements. Their extensive experience results in creative solutions to complicated design problems and they are resourceful in implementing sustainable design features, defining visual interest, and paying attention to quality detailing and special features needed to distinguish your project from all others.
