Elevated Living: Tudor Custom Townhomes

This project includes a new prototype multi-family product to replace previously designed rectangular block townhomes. The prototype combines the market-driven desire for single-family homes with the higher-density attached product required by the government. Townhomes share a common wall on each side of the basement, but the upper levels are detached – sharing only a 10-foot-tall garden wall. Additionally, each unit is an interlocking “L” shape to appear attached when viewed from the street but has windows in four directions for that desired detached housing ambiance. “Straight” walls are connected to adjacent units by fencing and pergola. Two additional floor levels for the finished attic/roof deck and bonus room above the garage were created by manipulating the current building codes.
