This townhome prototype combines the market-driven desire for single-family homes with the higher density attached product required by the municipality. The entire site has underground parking. Townhomes share basement common walls, but upper levels have courtyard spaces that allow for more light in each unit. Rear “sunken courtyards” provide additional light and outdoor privacy. Strict municipality requirements of attached housing were addressed using “bridge” rooms at exterior wall stair landings on alternation units. The bridge rooms are visible when viewed from the street.
